Uploading 101 and FAQ
Simply put, uploading video is sending your videos from your camera or computer to a website. When you upload, you send your electronic data or file from your own local system to another system - such as Motionbox.
Uploading has always been a bit of a challenge because it depends on several factors: a good, stable internet connection, file size limitations, and some know-how on the workings of your camera and computer.
Today’s camera manufacturers and technology make uploading easier than ever. First, it’s just a matter of plugging your camera into your computer’s USB so that your videos are easily accessed. Then, using use one of Motionbox’s two options to make uploading videos a complete no-brainer.

Uploading FAQ
How do I know which uploader option would work best for me?
Larger files (1 GB+) work best with the Motionbox Xpress Uploader (MXU). Otherwise, the online web-based uploader is a great bet for smaller files.
I want to upload my file but don’t have time to hang around waiting for it to complete. What can I do?
If you are using our web-based uploader, you’ll want to make sure your computer doesn’t go to sleep while you are uploading. For best results, upload your videos on a stable, wired (not wifi) connection. If you are using the MXU, you can step away as needed and the upload will continue as long as your computer stays powered on. If you get disconnected, the upload will pick up again when you’re back online.
Do I need any special software to upload video?
Nope. Motionbox provides an online option and an option that you can install to your desktop, all easily accessible on our site.
