Membership Questions

A Basic Membership on Motionbox is a great (and FREE) way to get your feet wet and see how fun and easy it is to share your memories on video. Here’s the deal with a Basic Membership. You can:

• Upload up to 300 MB of personal video (100 MB maximum per video)
• Control who can view, mix, and comment on your videos
• Share videos via email with as many people as you please
• Embed videos on almost any blog, website, or profile page
• Use the mixer to crop and combine the best parts of your videos
• Create video e-cards for any occasion
• Keep track of videos you like with Favorites and Playlists
• Invite friends and family to share videos with you on Motionbox
• Import and store contacts for no-hassle sharing

Your free account allows you to store a total of 300 MB of video. Each file you upload must be 100 MB or smaller. We’ll show you the size of your videos in the uploader so you know which ones won’t make the cut.

Unless the resolution on your camera is really high or really low, you should be able to upload and store about 10-20 minutes of video total (that’s 20-40 thirty-second clips or 5-10 two-minute clips). The good news? Mixes and videos you create or edit on Motionbox don’t count towards your storage limit.

We know that life doesn’t always happen in small clips, which is why we created Motionbox Premium. If you find yourself itching to store and share more videos, archive your originals and activate download capabilities — we won’t blame you!

Motionbox Premium is what you’ll want to get as soon as you get into the swing of storing, enhancing, and sharing your videos on Motionbox. It’s an inexpensive, easy way to archive your video memories, access them anywhere, and preserve them forever. Here’s what you get with a Premium subscription:

Nope! Only the owner of the videos (in this case, you) has to be a Premium member in order to make them available for download.

With a Premium membership, you are automatically able to download your own videos and mixes. By default, the contacts you’ve identified as Friends and/or Family will also have permission to download the videos you share with them. You can adjust this permission at any time by visiting the Privacy & Permissions section of your Settings.

If the owner of the video is a Premium member and has given you permission to download his or her content, you can download it.

You don’t have to have a Premium membership to download a Premium member’s videos!

Sorry, you can’t purchase gift subscriptions at this time, but please let us know if this is something you’d be interested in doing in the future. We’ll keep you up to date on all enhancements to Motionbox Premium!

We will automatically renew your Motionbox Premium membership one year after you purchase your subscription, unless you choose to cancel before that date.

You can cancel your Premium membership anytime within 14 days of purchase for a full refund.

As soon as you cancel, you’ll be subject to the storage and upload limitations of the Basic Account If you’ve already exceeded these limits as a Premium member, we’ll give you a chance to choose which videos you want to remove. If you don’t remove videos on your own within 14 days of canceling your Premium membership, we’ll just remove the oldest videos for you.

If you decide not to renew your Premium membership, you’ll have until the end of your subscription to remove any videos that are over the storage and upload limitations of the Basic Account
