When I visit a community, a representative delivers a welcome speech - part gratitude for past kindnesses, part petition for more support. At Tikvat Israel Congregation outside of Abuja, the representative was eight year old Devora Nwafor.

Gratitude is at spirituality's core. The community at Awka thanks the Almighty - and this is humbling - for allowing me to visit them. Listen to their voice, look at their faces, experience their joy and passion: that is why I keep going back.
